first off: GREAT INVENTION!
i was thinking about taking up some sort of midi instrument building project and the idea of midi drumsticks came to mind.
i thought surely its such a great idea that they are already being sold. i was wrong but at least they are being developed...
how long have you been working on this then? seems like a complicated project.. although you probably already solved the biggest problem using your material detection technology.
i also wanted to point out that the demonstration page has a fault: it plays a demonstration audio file after loading up the video. kind of disruptive to the video... I am using the newest firefox browser and newest version of quicktime.
also why do i have to post as a guest after filling out registrations form for your forum ?

kasparthe guest member Thanks for the comments, and sorry for the delay.
We've been working on them for for 4 years (on and off) - We're still working on improving the plugin (and making it cross-platform) - The hardware is really what's slowing us down, though. It's getting there. Slowly.
Website comments - I'll certainly check it out, but (as, I'm sure you can tell) a good-looking website's a little low on my priorities. That said, I think I see what you mean - AFAIK, the video player script is set to NOT autoload / NOT autoplay - But I've a feeling it tries to buffer the video/audio - and I'm not sure I can disable that. So, without making the samples download only, there may not be much I can do... I will take a look.
Forum - The reason I've had to limit access to the forum is that it was being repeatedly spammed by bots - I've approved you now, and you shouldn't have any problems posting from now on (though you'll have to log in).
Thanks once again for leaving comments, and encouragement - Believe me, it's really appreciated!

It seems like these things are still not on the market, which is unbelievable considering how much everyone loves them. It sounds like you are spending all your time trying to make them perfect instead of selling them. Why don't you release a mark one version that it satisfactory, if not pefect, instead of going to the grave without seeing anyone benefit from your invention?

Thanks Ross, but, re Henry Ford quote, the World's a different place now. The advice and encouragement is still appreciated, though. We have to be more circumspect. In any event funding, development, manufacturing, marketing and distribution all costs... and that price is too high, at the moment. Lots of companies brought out MP3 players 10 years ago, or so, which one do you suppose sold best / still on sale? I have to consider the risks of bringing something to market which sells in their tens, hundreds, thousands, or perhaps millions, but then cover returns or badly received or abused units - that's a problem - especially for a company our size, and in the given marketplace. I often wish I'd thought of something much easier to produce! Sorry for the delay - Ross, by all means contact me privately if you want. The e-mail's on the main site - Make the subject obvious, though!

Sounds like you need an investor with experience of launching technology products to get you moving. Maybe you should sell some of your company to a big company who have the resources you need?
