As well as investigating sticks - we're working on porting the existing VST plugin to the Mac - (Not Universal binary just yet, give us a chance!)
What's your view? Should we concentrate on Mac, PC, both, other?

(Not Universal binary just yet, give us a chance!) Heh, might be ;D But it's still a VST - Do people have any other preferences (other than VST)?

I think it's important to offer the Mac option if you are trying to reach the education sector (not to mention teachers/professional musicians).

Not to be a total fanboy (and swerving the VST element for a moment) - but wouldn't an iPad/Pod/Device application have a space in the market? Super-portable, requiring only an amplifier, or at the very least, headphones, or the built-in speakers. If not for the serious user, certainly it would have the kind of marketing pull that might generate interest.

Hi Tom, Welcome. Thanks for dropping by.
Erm, yes... I've been working on that too - But Apple, in their infinite wisdom, prevent access to their stereo audio/line-input in iOS on the iPod touch/iPhone. I've recently seen iPad has line-in / MIDI Out (but seemingly not at the same time), via the Camera i/f. (See the recent excellent CDM - Create Digital Music blog)
Rest assured, I am still working on them, and trying to find a reliable and portable solution.

Really, they don't allow line-in? I knew there were bits that were closed down, but I had figured that was just file-system related stuff - seems crazy to shut down otherwise secure (?) i/o things like microphone, line-in etc - although, excusing my ignorance, couldn't you sample the input from the microphone (and by extension, microphone inputs routed via the headphone/mic socket) I have seen apps that take a mic-input, and run that through some filter/processing before routing back out through the speakers - so that should be doable perhaps.
Right. Got to get back to work!

My blind friends can't use the mouse on a PC but their screenreaders enable them to do most else. They would be great at using midistick to play their furniture and belongings!

Hello [spurgescom]! thanks for the comment. Good to have met you at the opening of the new South Norwood Invention Centre, yesterday. I really liked your ideas. I've been considering the kind of use you're suggesting (e.g. its appearance at a Neuro-Rehabilitation conference in Putney, last year) - Midisticks designed output could include other formats (as well / instead of) MIDI output - such as relay control, solenoid activation etc. so I can see what you're getting at. I think we should have a longer chat sometime.
